Experience the art of Taiji Chuan at the Marino Community Hall every Tuesday from 7-9 pm. Budokai Australia – Comprehensive East Asian Fighting Systems offers classes in both Yang and Chen styles of Taiji Chuan, including the modern simplified style.
While Yang style Taiji Chuan focuses on health and relaxation, it is also a comprehensive self-defence system that incorporates weapons training. On the other hand, Chen style Taiji Chuan is the original form and provides a complete self-defence system, including strikes, locks, and throws.
Through Taiji Chuan, participants will learn how to avoid attacks and effectively use every part of their body for offence and defence. The practice of Taiji Chuan offers numerous benefits such as relaxation, flexibility, and leg strength, which are further enhanced through weapons practice.
Incorporating weapons like the Jian (narrow sword), Dao (broad sword), and Qiang (spear) in training will deepen understanding of technique, timing, and distancing.
The instructor at Budokai Australia has extensive experience in Taiji Chuan, beginning training in Tokyo in 1981 and studying with various masters, including Master He Bing Chuan and Master Chen Jun Yan.
Joining the class at Budokai Australia is an opportunity to experience the rich tradition and holistic benefits of Taiji Chuan. Whether seeking self-defence techniques or simply aiming to improve overall health, Taiji Chuan is a rewarding practice that can be continued well into the golden years.
