Table Tennis Nelson offers a fantastic facility for everyone to enjoy, complete with a full kitchen and social area where players can sit and have a chat after their games. The gym is the perfect place to meet fellow table tennis enthusiasts, improve your skills, and have a great time.
To join Table Tennis Nelson, there are different fee options available. You can pay as you go at $5. 00 per session, or you can choose to pay a term fee. Opting for a term fee allows you to participate in multiple sessions every week, and it can help you save money in the long run.
The term fees cover 13 weeks, and for adults, it's $60 to cover all sessions. Juniors can join for $25 per term, and there is a discounted rate of $40 for families with two or more juniors.
If you prefer social play in the morning, Monday Morning Social Table Tennis is the perfect choice for you. It runs from 9 am until 12 pm and provides a great opportunity to meet other players and enjoy some friendly competition. Morning tea is also provided, offering a chance to take a break and recharge.
For junior players, there is a dedicated coaching programme available on Mondays from 3:30 pm until 5 pm. The term fees for juniors are $25 per person or $40 per family. The coaching programme will resume on the 12th of February, 2024.
Tuesday nights are dedicated to the mixed-grade competition, starting at 7 pm. Each player will have the opportunity to play at least 2 singles and 1 doubles match. Teams are formed on the night, so you can simply turn up and play. Social play is also available on Tuesday nights, allowing you to have a hit with your friends.
Bats and balls are provided, but don't forget to bring your non-marking shoes.
Wednesday offers both morning and night social play. The morning session runs from 9 am to 12 pm and is suitable for more serious players rather than beginners. The evening social play starts at 7 pm and goes until 9 pm, with a cost of $5 per person or $10 per family. It's an excellent opportunity for workplace challenges and relaxing afterward in the cosy lounge.

The Friday sessions cater to junior players, with a warm-up from 3:30 pm to 4 pm followed by games from 4 pm to 5 pm. This programme will resume in Term 2, 2024. Friday morning also offers social table tennis from 9 am until 12 pm.
Saturday mornings from 9:30 am to 12 noon are perfect for bringing along your family and friends for a hit. The casual fee is $5, or $10 for the family if you haven't paid a term or annual fee.
On Sunday mornings from 9:30 am to 12 pm, you can enjoy competitive practise, coaching, junior coaching, and social play. The cost is $5 per person or $10 per family. It's a popular morning at Table Tennis Nelson, so come and join in the fun.
Table Tennis Nelson also has a structured junior programme. Step 1 is to attend the Monday after-school juniors session, which runs all year except for school holidays. Alternatively, you can come to one of the family sessions on Sunday morning or Wednesday evening. Step 2 is to participate in the Friday after-school competition during term 2 and 3.
Step 3 involves registering with Table Tennis New Zealand and becoming familiar with the events that are on. Step 4 is to watch some table tennis on WTT and get inspired. Finally, step 5 is to consider additional coaching from one of the experienced coaches at Table Tennis Nelson.
