Sydney University Athletics Club (SUAC) is Australia's first and finest athletics club, founded in 1878. In 2017, SUAC successfully launched the Target Tokyo programme with the goal of sending as many SUAC athletes as possible to the Tokyo Olympic Games. The programme included securing a European training base and providing elite competition opportunities. As a result, 12 SUAC athletes became Olympians in Tokyo, and another 23 represented Australia in the World Championships and Commonwealth Games in 2022 and 2023. This programme has now transitioned to Target Paris and continues to be a significant success.
