At Sydney Aquanatal Padstow, we are dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable exercise programme for pregnant women and new mothers in the Padstow area. Our Aquanatal classes are led by experienced midwives who have undergone specialised training in Aquanatal instruction. This ensures that all exercises are safe and appropriate for each stage of pregnancy and postnatal recovery.
Our classes focus on a combination of cardio and strengthening exercises, core and balance exercises, gentle stretching, and relaxation techniques. We also incorporate pelvic floor exercises and education into every class, helping women build the necessary strength and knowledge for a healthy pregnancy and postpartum period.
One of the unique benefits of Aquanatal is that it takes place in water. This allows for easier movement and relaxation of the body, particularly during the later stages of pregnancy. The buoyancy of the water provides a feeling of weightlessness and cushions the body against the impact of exercise, reducing the risk of jarring and minimising discomfort.
Research has shown that Aquanatal exercise can effectively reduce and prevent lower back pain in pregnancy. It also promotes positive body awareness and birth preparation, which can help reduce the symptoms of antenatal and postnatal depression. Additionally, our Aquanatal classes serve as a social event, providing a supportive environment where expectant and new mothers can connect and build relationships with others going through similar experiences.
We offer small and personal classes, with a maximum of 12 participants, to ensure individual attention and tailored exercises. Our instructors are in the water with you, ensuring your safety and making adjustments according to your specific needs and any special circumstances.
Aquanatal can be started from 12 weeks of pregnancy and resumed 6 weeks after giving birth. We have classes available at various venues across Sydney, including Padstow. Bookings are essential as places are limited, but you can join anytime during the term if there is availability.
