Who participated in Aquanatal exercise during their pregnancies. The results were overwhelmingly positive, with women reporting reduced back pain, improved mood, and a sense of support and community.
Based on these findings, I founded Sydney Aquanatal to provide a safe and enjoyable exercise programme specifically designed for pregnant women and new mothers. All of our instructors are experienced midwives and certified Aquanatal instructors, ensuring that you receive the best care and guidance throughout your pregnancy journey.
Our Aquanatal classes are conducted in water, which offers numerous benefits for pregnant women. The buoyancy of the water provides a feeling of weightlessness and allows for easier movement, exercise, and relaxation. This is especially beneficial in the later stages of pregnancy when your body may feel more fatigued on land.
Not only does Aquanatal help to improve your physical fitness and strength, but it also focuses on core and balance exercises, gentle stretching, relaxation, and birth preparation. We also incorporate pelvic floor exercises and education into each class to help prepare your body for labour and postpartum recovery.
One of the unique aspects of our Aquanatal classes is the small and personal class sizes. With a maximum of 12 participants, you will receive individualised attention from your instructor, who will adjust the exercises to meet your specific needs and circumstances. We understand that each pregnancy is different, and we want to ensure that you feel safe and comfortable throughout the class.
We offer Aquanatal classes at various venues around Sydney, and bookings are essential as places are limited. You can join a class at any point during your pregnancy if there is availability. Classes can be started from 12 weeks of pregnancy and resumed 6 weeks after giving birth.
Participating in Aquanatal has numerous benefits, both physically and mentally. Research has shown that Aquanatal exercise can reduce and prevent lower back pain more effectively than land-based exercise. It also promotes positive body awareness, which can help in reducing symptoms of antenatal and postnatal depression. Additionally, it offers a social opportunity to meet other expectant and new mothers, allowing you to build a support network during this exciting time.
