At Sydney Aquanatal Mascot, our goal is to provide expectant and new mums in the Mascot area with a safe and enjoyable exercise programme specifically tailored for pregnancy and postnatal recovery. All of our Aquanatal instructors are experienced midwives who have undergone specialised training in Aquanatal.

Our classes offer a variety of exercises that aim to improve cardiovascular fitness, strengthen the core and balance, and promote relaxation and birth preparation. We also emphasise the importance of pelvic floor exercises and provide education on pregnancy and postnatal health. Every class is conducted in the water, which provides a supportive and weightless environment for exercising and relaxing.

One of the key benefits of Aquanatal is that it reduces and prevents lower back pain, a common discomfort during pregnancy. Research has shown that Aquanatal exercise is more effective in relieving lower back pain compared to land-based exercise. Additionally, Aquanatal promotes positive body awareness and prepares women for childbirth, helping to reduce the symptoms of antenatal and postnatal depression.

Our classes are small, with a maximum of 12 participants, allowing for personalised attention and adjustments to suit individual needs. We offer classes at various venues in Sydney and bookings are essential as spaces are limited. You can join our classes at any stage during your pregnancy, starting from 12 weeks, and resume six weeks after giving birth.
