Join Swimtime swimmers as they learn advanced swimming techniques in a 3-step programme with Barry Barracuda. Accomplished swimmers up to age 12 can take part in this activity. Barry and his Barracuda friends, who can swim at the speed of 25mph, will guide participants through various stages of learning.
In stage 1, swimmers will learn how to prepare through warm-up exercises and develop endurance and stamina for distance swimming. They will also learn propulsion techniques for front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, and butterfly. Participants will practice starts, turns, and finishes in a variety of strokes.
Additionally, they will learn emergency signals and how to summon assistance as part of survival skills. Basic aid techniques for a choking adult casualty and submerging and diving practices for different aquatic situations will also be taught. These skills are crucial for a swimmer's safety and well-being in any aquatic environment.
In stage 2, participants will further develop their skills and knowledge in advanced swimming. This activity is suitable for children and offers a comprehensive learning experience with a focus on safety and nautical awareness.
