Join Places Leisure Camberley for swimming lessons! Places Leisure Camberley is proud to work with Swim England and follows the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme and Awards Scheme. With their dedicated teachers and the latest technology, your child's progress is tracked and updated on the Course Hub. This allows you to easily monitor their performance and see how they're improving.
Before you head over to the centre, don't forget to register for an online account and download the Places Locker App. This will give you access to your digital membership card, making your visit hassle-free. Once you arrive, please remember to remove your outdoor shoes and store your belongings in the lockers provided.
To ensure the best experience for everyone, make sure your child has used the toilet and showered before entering the pool. When it's time for their lesson, just take your child to the designated 'Drop off point'. Their teacher will be there to collect them and take the register.
During the lesson, parents and guardians are requested to remain in the viewing areas. However, if necessary, you can accompany your child in the pool. It's all about making sure they're comfortable and confident in the water.
After the lesson, be sure to be at the 'pick up point' on time to collect your child. Safety is a top priority, and we want to ensure that each child is accounted for and reunited with their parent or guardian.
When it comes to swimwear, practicality is key. Girls should wear one-piece swimming costumes, while boys can opt for non-baggy shorts. Swim hats are mandatory and will be provided based on the current stage of your child's lesson. As a safety precaution, please remove any jewellery or securely tape it beforehand.
You'll be pleased to know that swimming lessons usually continue during school holidays. The only exception is a two-week break over Christmas. We want to make sure your child has plenty of opportunities to build their confidence and skills in the water.
