The Parks Recreation & Sports Centre is excited to promote a fantastic fitness event happening right here in Adelaide! YMCA South Australia Aquatics is offering swimming lessons for children, providing them with a fun and engaging way to improve their swimming skills.
When students join the swimming lessons program, they receive a membership card that they must scan at every lesson for entry to the pool. But that's not all – The Parks Recreation & Sports Centre also offers unlimited access to the pool for practice sessions and fun activities with family and friends. And guess what? Students can even enjoy the inflatable during scheduled public times at no additional cost. How cool is that?
The program takes the progress of students seriously. The teachers continuously assess the students and inform the supervisor when a swimmer is ready for a formal assessment. The supervisor's decision is final, and the outcome of the assessment is then discussed with the swimmer and their parent either in person or through an email progress report.
Now, we understand that life can sometimes throw unexpected curveballs. If a student needs to cancel their membership, a 14-day written notice is required. Also, lessons do not take place on public holidays, and there are no charges for those missed classes. And for students who are injured and unable to attend two or more consecutive lessons, they can apply for medical suspensions without any charge. Just make sure to arrange them in writing prior to the missed lesson and provide a supporting medical certificate. If the suspension lasts over six weeks, the student will be placed in a suitable class with vacancy upon their return.
We've got you covered when it comes to missed lessons or lessons that fall on public holidays. Make-up lessons are available at no cost. In fact, each student is entitled to 12 make-up lessons for every 12 months of enrolment. And to make things convenient, payments for swimming lessons can be made through fortnightly direct debit. Please note that there is a $15.00 fee for failed debits. If two consecutive debits fail, the student will be removed from the class and lose immediate access to the swimming lesson membership and centre.
Did we mention that we take care of suspensions too? Yes, we do! Make-up lessons and no-cost medical suspensions are available for swimming lesson memberships. Plus, we automatically apply medical suspensions for two weeks over the holidays in December and January.
Oh, and before we forget, the pools at YMCA South Australia Aquatics are heated for your comfort. The 25-meter pool is heated to a lovely 28 degrees, while the leisure/program pool is heated to a cosy 32 degrees. So, you can enjoy swimming all year round.
Please remember, infants are required to wear swimwear or aqua nappies that fit tightly around the thighs. Standard nappies are not allowed in the pool, but don't worry, aqua nappies can be purchased conveniently on-site.
