Situated beside the picturesque Alexandra Lake, this newly renovated watersports centre offers a serene and sheltered venue for open water swimming. Whether you are a beginner looking to build confidence in open water or an experienced triathlete seeking to enhance your performance, the Lifeguarded sessions at Swim Lakeside cater to all levels and abilities.

We offer a variety of marked swimming courses ranging from 50m to 200m, so you can choose the distance that suits your preferences and goals. Additionally, our new 400m loop is now open for those seeking a longer and more challenging swim. To enhance your experience, we have recently introduced new changing rooms and hot showers, ensuring your comfort during your visit.

To streamline the booking process, Swim Lakeside utilises the NOWCA system. By registering and purchasing a NOWCA safety wristband through the ACTIO app, you can easily log your swim distance and time, enabling you to track your performance and progress. Furthermore, with this system, we can ensure your safety in and out of the water during each session. You can conveniently check our availability and book your session by registering on the NOWCA website or through the ACTIO app.

Swim Lakeside also offers a newsletter subscription for you to stay updated on the latest news and updates. We value your privacy and comply with all applicable terms and conditions, privacy policies, and cookie policies to ensure your information is protected.

When it comes to prices and visitor information, Swim Lakeside offers various options to accommodate your needs. The cost per swim session is $8. 50 NZD for a 1. 5-hour session.

We also offer a package deal of $70 NZD for a bundle of 10 swims, which includes a free neon Swim Lakeside swim hat. For those requiring a wetsuit, we offer rental options at $5 NZD, and a tow float can be rented for $5 NZD as well. If you require both a tow float and a wetsuit, we provide a combo rental option for $7. 50 NZD.

To book your session, you can download the ACTIO app from the app store or Google Play. Sign in with your existing NOWCA account or create a new account if you're a new swimmer. Search for 'Swim Lakeside' within the app, select your desired session, and make the payment. Once completed, you are all set for an unforgettable open water swimming experience at Swim Lakeside.

When attending our open water swimming sessions, it is essential to bring a bright-coloured swim hat, goggles, and a tow bag. These items must be worn at all times during your swim for safety purposes.
