Sweet Azucar! Latin Dance is a dance school located in Auckland, New Zealand. With a strong focus on inclusivity, passion, and growth, Sweet Azucar! Offers a wide range of dance classes and events for dancers of all levels and backgrounds.

Led by Liz Parsons, the founder and studio director, Sweet Azucar! Was established in 2012 with the belief that dance is for everyone. Liz has been instrumental in bringing in world-class international instructors to provide the best teaching and learning opportunities for students in New Zealand. Safety, clear communication, authenticity, and lots of laughter are the key values that Liz instils in each and every class.

The dance classes at Sweet Azucar! Cover various Latin dance styles, including salsa and bachata. The salsa classes, created in collaboration with international mentors Serena Cuevas and Nery Garcia, offer both fundamental and programme sessions to prepare dancers for social floors worldwide. The turn patterns sessions further expand dancers' knowledge and provide an opportunity for fun and creativity.

For bachata enthusiasts, Sweet Azucar! Offers classes designed by multi-time world champions Serena Cuevas, Carlitos Noreiga, and 'Dr. Bachata'. These classes teach the fundamentals of bachata and then progress to trickier moves, covering all bachata styles.

In addition to regular classes, Sweet Azucar! Provides extra services such as wedding dance choreography, private lessons, and team and competition training. Beyond classes, Sweet Azucar! Also hosts a variety of events and socials throughout the year. Students have the opportunity to attend socials, festivals, congresses, performances, and competitions. The monthly free “Salsa Social” at Goode Brothers New Lynn is a popular event for social dancing, giving dancers a chance to practise their skills and connect with others in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
