Our academy has been established for 20 years and is led by owner and principal Suzie Wallington, who takes great pride in the academy's reputation for providing first-class teaching in a warm and welcoming environment. We offer both hobby and competition classes, catering to dancers of all levels and interests.
Our timetable includes a range of dance styles such as Hip Hop, Commercial Street Dance, Break Dance, Freestyle, and Lyrical. We also provide opportunities for our students to showcase their skills in community performances, and all students participate in our End of Year Show & Awards Event, where they have the chance to perform in a professional theatre.
To further inspire and nurture our young dancers, we regularly invite guest teachers and participate in professional workshops. This allows our students to learn from industry professionals and gain valuable experience in different dance styles and techniques.
Our street dance and disco freestyle classes train students to a high standard, enabling our academy to compete nationally and represent Team UK in international competitions. We take pride in our achievements and strive to create opportunities for our dancers to showcase their talent on a larger stage.
The SW Dance Academy team consists of dedicated and passionate instructors who specialise in various dance styles. Our team includes Suzie Wallington, the principal, Mike who teaches Commercial Street Dance and Freestyle, Vicky focusing on Freestyle, Taylor teaching Lyric and Street, Tanisha specialising in Hip Hop Street Dance, Danni teaching Commercial Street Dance, Tom focusing on Freestyle and Lyrical, Cosmin teaching Break Dance, and Ebony specialising in Freestyle and Lyrical. We also have student teachers, Caitlin focusing on Freestyle and Lyrical.
You can find our classes in two locations, at One YMCA in St. Albans and at Park Hall in Harpenden. Both locations offer a safe and welcoming environment for our dancers to learn and grow.
