Vikram Patel, the organiser of Surrey Warriors Cricket Club in Chertsey, has a few words for the sports community. Established in 2018 by cricket lovers and former international players, Vikram and his team set out to elevate cricket in the county circuit of the United Kingdom.
Surrey Warriors CC brings together members from various walks of life and corners of the globe, united by their love for cricket. Among them are former international players and those newly introduced to red ball cricket. While many members are IT professionals during the week, their dedication to cricket brings them to the field after work, showcasing their talent and energy. Watching this diverse group, ranging from 25-year-olds to 45-year-old fathers, play with such passion is indeed inspiring.
The club remains always motivated, continually training and striving to improve their game. Supported by friends and families, they are on a promising path to success.
Recent results have been impressive, with victories against Epic CC 2nd XI, SinjunGrammarians CC 5th XI, Surrey Sharks, and Park Hill CC Saturday XI. These wins have cemented their strong position in the premier Division of the Surrey Cricket League.
Noteworthy performances include Harmanpreet Singh Brar as the top run-scorer with 569 runs, Karthikeyan Sathya holding the highest individual score of 107 runs, and Diptendu Roy having the highest strike rate of 128.57.
The club values the support from their sponsors, whose contributions have been instrumental in their achievements.
Vikram encourages anyone interested in joining Surrey Warriors CC to get in touch. The club always welcomes new members who share a passion for cricket and a desire to be part of a friendly and inclusive cricket community.
