Surf School Wales is a family-run, not-for-profit surf school located on the stunning Aberavon Beach in Port Talbot, Wales. Situated just off the M4 and a few minutes from the train station, we are one of the most accessible beaches in the country. Our beach is a hidden gem, combining industrial charm, natural beauty, and a strong sense of community.
At Surf School Wales, we are passionate about the benefits of being in or near the sea. Our range of surf lessons cater to different age groups and skill levels. We offer Learn to Surf lessons for ages 8 and above, making it a fantastic activity for families to enjoy together. We also have special sessions for surf sisters, providing a supportive and empowering environment for female surfers. For those looking for a more personalised experience, we offer private 121 lessons with our experienced surf coaches.
For younger surf enthusiasts, we have our Kids Surf Clubs, which provide a safe and fun environment for children aged 8-16 to learn and practise surfing. We also offer discounted surf lessons for schools, ensuring that young people have access to the sea and all its benefits.
Surf School Wales isn't just for individuals and families. We also cater to groups, whether it's for a family gathering, a Hen/Stag Party, a sports team outing, or even corporate team building. You can enjoy the thrill of surfing with your friends and colleagues in a private group setting.
We understand the importance of well-being and finding inner calm. That's why we're introducing our Waves & Well-being programme in 2023. This three-hour session combines a surf lesson with well-being practises, providing an opportunity to focus on yourself and find purpose and calm by the sea.
