Once darkness falls, we'll move to the beach to witness the nesting habits of the female turtles. Depending on the moon phase, you might also be treated to some exceptional stargazing in the unspoiled dark skies of Ningaloo. It's a truly magical experience that you won't want to miss.
Please note that observing nesting turtles up close may require a moderate level of fitness and mobility, as there might be moments where you'll need to 'commando crawl' on the beach. However, if you prefer, you can always observe from a safe distance.
The tour will last approximately 3.5 hours and includes beach-based turtle nesting/viewing, sunset and star gazing. To make your experience even more enjoyable, we provide pick up and drop off from Exmouth accommodation, as well as drinks and nibbles during the sunset. We'll also equip you with red lights for wildlife viewing at night, binoculars, and star maps for stargazing.
This incredible tour is available from November 15 to February 15 at Jurabi Coastal Park on the Ningaloo Coast, Exmouth, Western Australia. The price is $109 for adults, $99 for children, and $355 for a family (2 adults, 2 children). Additional children can join for $85 each. Please keep in mind that the minimum age for this tour is 5 years old. As there is a moderate level of physical activity involved, we recommend a decent level of fitness and mobility. While crawling through the sand to view turtle nesting activity up close is part of the experience, you're welcome to opt out and observe the turtles from a distance.
The tour will begin with your pick up from your Exmouth accommodation at 6.15pm. Your guide will provide you with an introduction to the tour, the marine turtles that nest in the area, and the 'Turtle Watcher's Code of Conduct'. You'll then get to enjoy a splendid west coast sunset on the beach with drinks and nibbles. Once darkness descends, your guide will lead you to the beach to witness the nesting habits of the female turtles while you marvel at the breathtaking stargazing opportunities.
