Towards a healthier and more active lifestyle by becoming a member of Sudbury Court Running Club. Established in May 1999, the club provides a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals of all running abilities.
Sudbury Court Running Club originally started as a small group of runners who would meet informally each Tuesday for a run and social drink. It quickly grew in popularity, attracting members from various backgrounds and running experiences. The club took its name from the Sudbury Court Sports Club, where they initially met before moving to their current location.
The club boasts a membership of around 30 members and is affiliated with the South of England Athletics Association, governed by the British Athletic Federation (BAF). This affiliation ensures that members receive the benefits of being part of a recognised athletic association, including access to organised races and events.
Every Tuesday evening, the club meets at 7:05pm at the Wembley Cricket Club, conveniently located between Vale Farm and Sudbury Avenue. There is also a meeting point by the grass on Sudbury Avenue for added convenience. The club organises a social run of about 2 kilometres at a steady pace, accommodating runners of all abilities. After the social run, members have the option to split into groups and run various distances ranging from 4 to 9 miles.
The length of the run is a personal choice, allowing members to tailor their running experience to their own preferences.
The club predominantly runs on well-lit roads, but during the summer months, many members enjoy exploring running routes over Horsenden Hill, Greenford, and along the canal towpath. Free car parking space is available on-site, and ample street parking is also available.
