Sudburnia Soccer Club, established in 1980, has a rich history of providing a platform for boys and girls in Greater Sudbury to enjoy the beautiful game of soccer. Founded by passionate individuals such as Marinus Logtenburg, Ricardo de la Riva, and Bob Segsworth, the club started as a recreational youth soccer league focused on fun and camaraderie.
Over the years, dedicated volunteers like Greg Zorbas, Bob Morris, and Barb Lumley, among others, have helped shape and sustain Sudburnia Soccer, with the introduction of executive membership in 1986 marking a milestone in the club's development. These early pioneers serve as a source of inspiration for the current generation of volunteers who continue to uphold the traditions of the Sudburnia Soccer Club.
In 2023, Sudburnia Soccer celebrates its 44th season, welcoming players, coaches, and parents to another exciting summer of soccer. Under the guidance of former Team Canada player Brian Ashton, the club remains committed to offering a grassroots approach to youth development, ensuring that every participant receives quality instruction and enjoys the game to the fullest.
At Sudburnia Soccer, everyone is welcome to join in the fun and excitement of the sport, with a focus on inclusivity and community engagement. Whether you're a seasoned player or a newcomer to the game, the club provides a supportive environment where players of all ages can learn and grow together.
