Welcome to Sturminster Newton United Football Club, a local football club located in Sturminster Newton, New Zealand. The club is home to three adult Men's teams, with our First Team playing in the Dorset top League and our Reserves playing in Dorset League Two. This season, we have also created a Third Team. We regret that, for the time being, we are unable to run a Ladies team.
In addition to our adult teams, we have a vibrant Youth section with nine teams ranging from Under 8 to Under 16. Our Youth Chairman, Dan Carroll, has created a presentation that explains our Club's 'DNA' for Youth Football. You can download it from our website.
Our Club House is a hub of activity, featuring a permanent Bar Steward and staff. We offer a wide range of beers and spirits for our members to enjoy. The Club House is open every evening except Monday and closes at 7:00 p. m.
on Sundays. We have both Sky and BT Sport available on screens in the Club House. Membership is 12 per year for adults, and family membership is also available.
Sturminster Newton United Football Club has a rich history. Established in 1874 as the Panthers FC, we became the first club from the West Country to participate in the FA Cup, reaching the second round on three occasions. In the 1890s, our name was changed to Sturminster St Marys, and the current name was adopted in 1945. We were among the founding members of the Dorset Combination in 1957 and have since played in various leagues, including the Dorset premier League and the Dorset Senior League.
We have won numerous trophies, including the Dorset Senior Trophy in 2011-12.
