About
Strathcona Basketball Association, located in Sherwood Park within Strathcona County, is proud to be the third largest youth basketball program in the province of Alberta. Led by Executive Director Darlene Anstice since 2000, SBA is a member of the Edmonton Youth Basketball Association, Basketball Alberta, and AYBC. The club offers a great opportunity for youth in the area, ranging in age from five (5) to eighteen (18), to stay active and engaged in the sport of basketball.
Parents are welcomed as volunteers to assist in various roles within the club, with a particular need for coaches. Those interested in coaching can reach out to SBA via email or phone to express their interest. The website is the main platform for communication, providing updates on practice and game schedules, as well as other important information for players, coaches, and parents.
SBA offers youth community basketball programs, including the House League 7U/Tykes program for boys and girls born in 2018-2019. This program runs from late October to the end of February or early March, with sessions consisting of a combination of practice and 3-on-3 cross-court games. Fees for the program include an SBA t-shirt, team/individual picture, and a year-end award, with a payment plan option available.
Join the Strathcona Basketball Association to be a part of a thriving basketball community dedicated to the development and growth of young athletes in the Sherwood Park area. Contact SBA via email for more information about registration, programs, and volunteer opportunities.
