About
Stonehaven Thistle Cricket Club, lovingly called “The Invisibles,” has been up and running since way back in 1872. Situated in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, they've got a solid reputation in the local cricket circles.
In 2020, things got a shakeup with a new Committee stepping in. Alan, the organiser, and his team are all about bringing the club back to its glory days. While they used to battle it out in Grade 1, they’re now in the NESC league, Grade 3.
The Junior Section, renamed Stonehaven Phoenix in 2021, has been killing it with two strong seasons. Alan’s crew wants to make sure young talent gets the spotlight, securing a bright cricket future.
Mineralwell Park, the club’s home turf, is a point of pride. Maintained by the club’s own members, it’s one of the top pitches in Aberdeenshire – even bagging second-best in the region back in 2018.
As they hit their 150th anniversary in 2022, Stonehaven Thistle is on the lookout for new players to join for the 2023 season. Seniors and juniors alike, if you’re passionate about cricket and up for some fun on and off the field, check out the “Membership” section on their website.
Besides great cricket, the club offers a fantastic community vibe, making lifelong friends along the way. The Junior section ensures the kids have a blast at Mineralwell Park too.
