Stocker Dance Academy in Wakefield, founded by ex-professional dancer Nikki Stocker, is a dance school that offers a wide range of classes for individuals of all ages and abilities. The academy is led by Principal Nikki Stocker, who has a long-standing passion for dance. Starting her dancing journey at the age of 3, she progressed through the IDTA and RAD syllabii to become a teacher herself. Throughout her training, she achieved numerous competition wins and accolades, including a tap dancing scholarship nomination from the IDTA and becoming a finalist in the IDTA Miss Dance of Great Britain finals. Having performed worldwide for leading choreographers and producers, Nikki now aims to inspire future generations and encourage them to have fun and reach their full potential through dance.
Located at Studio 1a Hemingway House, Thornes Moor Business Park, Wakefield, the academy boasts a private studio that exudes a light and airy ambiance. The studio features a purpose-built dance floor and mirrors, providing a conducive environment for learning and practising dance. Additionally, there is a welcoming reception and café area where parents can wait for their children before and after classes. The children also have a separate changing area, ensuring their comfort and convenience.
The academy offers a range of dancewear and gifts that can be purchased or ordered from the reception area.
