St Nicholas FC, fondly known as #saintstogether, is a football club based in Bristol. Alan, the organiser, is keen to share how the club is dedicated to offering a top-quality, fun, and inclusive football development programme. The aim is to help every player reach their full potential, both on and off the pitch.
Founded in 1979 from the merger of Abbotswood Youth Club and Heron Boys, the club expanded its football offerings, adopting the name St Nicholas Youth Club in the 1979/80 season. Initially linked with St Nicholas Church in Yate, the club has evolved significantly.
In 1995, St Nicholas FC moved to its current home at the Ridings, managed by the Chipping Sodbury Towns Trust. Alan points out that the club has become a key spot for young footballers, renowned for hosting one of the largest and most successful summer tournaments in the region. This annual event draws over 3000 people and teams from Europe, Wales, and the South West.
With over 40 years under their belt, the club has grown steadily. They now have more than 420 members, supported by over 100 volunteers. This dedicated team enables 16 boys' teams, 9 girls' teams, and 2 men's teams to compete in six different leagues every week.
Alan is particularly proud of the club’s qualified coaches who focus on the development and well-being of their players, ensuring a positive and nurturing environment where all can thrive.
For the latest news and events, followers can check out the club's website, developed by The Digital Grapevine in Thornbury, Bristol, and managed by Kate Hayden Design to ensure a smooth and user-friendly experience.
