Welcome to St. Michael's Angling Association! We are a fishing club based in New Zealand that manages stretches of The River Wyre and shares stretches of The River Lune on behalf of our members. Our main goal is to provide an enjoyable and fulfilling fishing experience for all of our members.
At St. Michael's Angling Association, we offer two levels of membership. Wyre membership allows members to fish association waters on the River Wyre, while Lune membership grants access to both the River Wyre and the River Lune. We also offer concessions for members who are 65 years old and above, as well as for juniors under 17.
To become a member, interested individuals must fill out a membership form, which can be downloaded from our website. Along with the form, please enclose two passport photos and a one-time joining fee of 20. Membership must be renewed by the end of February each year.
As a member of St. Michael's Angling Association, you will have the privilege of fishing on our club waters. Additionally, we provide Wyre Day Tickets for both adults and juniors, which can be easily ordered through our website. These day tickets grant access to fishing on the River Wyre and are available for a nominal fee of 6.
One of our main goals is to maintain a dynamic and interesting website for our members. We welcome newsworthy details of your own experiences on club waters, which will be incorporated in regularly updated river reports. If you catch a particularly good specimen from the River Wyre or River Lune club stretches, we encourage you to send in a good photo along with details such as the date and time of capture, stretch of river, and method used. You are not obliged to give away your favourite fishing spots or bait, but your input will help make our website more engaging.
In terms of fishing seasons, the open season for salmon in England's Ribble and Wyre is from 1st February to 31st October. Migratory Trout season runs from 1st April to 30th September. There are different close seasons depending on the type of fish, and national byelaws apply for freshwater fish and eels.
Please note that when fishing for salmon or sea trout, a rod licence is required. However, there is no need for a rod licence when fishing for sea angling, except when targeting salmon or sea trout.
Before fishing on our club waters, please make sure you have the appropriate Environmental Agency licence. We value the sustainability of our rivers and want to ensure responsible angling practises.
Thank you for your interest in St. Michael's Angling Association. We look forward to welcoming you as a member and sharing the joy of fishing on the River Wyre and the River Lune with you. For more information, please don't hesitate to contact us through our website or social media platforms.
