St Leonards Chess Club conducts its meetings at the St Leonards Community Space every Thursday from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, and sometimes even longer. Public holidays are excluded from the schedule. The club offers an inviting and cosy environment for players to immerse themselves in the game and enjoy everything chess has to offer.
The founder of St Leonards Chess Club, Hugh Peters, developed a passion for chess at the age of nine. His parents introduced him to the game, and it quickly became a family bonding activity. As Hugh began winning games against his father, his mother took over as his mentor and continued to nurture his chess skills.
