Declan Murphy would like to extend a warm invitation to the sports community from St Josephs GAA Club in Waltham Cross. Founded in April 2005 by Declan Murphy, the club is dedicated to bringing the excitement of Gaelic football to young people in the area.
Rooted in the spirit of St Joseph's parish, the club offers training for boys and girls aged under-8s to under-18s, and also has a senior team for seasoned players. The club is open to everyone, regardless of background or prior experience. Being Irish or attending St Joseph's School is not a prerequisite.
Training sessions are held on Tuesday evenings at Bullsmoor Lane Playing Fields, EN1 4RL. Interested individuals are encouraged to contact the club before attending. Keep an eye on the club’s social media pages on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for the latest updates and events.
St Josephs GAA Club has a proud history of achievements. In 2010, the Under-16 team won the Herts County Championship, the club’s first major triumph. Since forming a senior team in 2011, the club has continued to secure various victories. The Under-14 team won the Herts County Championship in 2014, with further successes in 2016 and 2018 for both boys' and girls' teams.
In recent years, the club’s youth development has shone through, with former youth players joining the senior ranks. The girls’ teams, established in 2016, have also been making strides. The ladies' section, led by Declan Murphy as Honorary President and supported by Colleen McIntyre, Fiona O'Sullivan, and Siobhan Kelly, is keen to establish its first Women's Senior Team.
St Josephs GAA Club is more than just a sports club; it's a community hub where members can engage in Gaelic football, make new friends, and be part of a welcoming environment.
For more information, don’t hesitate to get in touch. Declan Murphy and the team look forward to welcoming you!
