John, the organiser, would like to invite the sports community to Stirling County Cricket Club. Located in Stirlingshire, Scotland, it's a club that has been around since 1862 and offers cricket for seniors, juniors, and ladies, regardless of skill level.
For over 100 years, the club played at Williamfield in the Torbrex area of Stirling. Then, in 2007, they moved to a new ground on the outskirts of Stirling, offering some of the best cricket facilities in Scotland.
Seniors can join in competitive league cricket with the 1st or 2nd XI teams, both part of the Western District Cricket Union (WDCU). The 1st XI faces top-league opponents in the WDCU, while the 2nd XI plays in Division 4. There’s also a team for friendly matches on Sundays and participation in the West Stirlingshire t20 competition on Wednesday evenings.
John makes sure there's a lot happening for the juniors as well. The club offers Kwik Cricket for primary school children, with regular Friday night training sessions and participation in Kwik Cricket festivals throughout the summer.
Stirling County Cricket Club also has great facilities available for events—private parties, celebrations, weddings, business meetings, and outdoor events. The clubhouse is equipped with a bar, kitchen, air conditioning, multimedia facilities, and lovely views, making it an ideal spot for all sorts of gatherings.
To stay in touch, you can follow Stirling County Cricket Club on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. There are also sponsorship opportunities for businesses looking to get involved, with several options available for 2023.
Whether you’re an experienced cricketer or a young player wanting to improve, John and the team at Stirling County Cricket Club would love to welcome you. Join in and enjoy cricket in the heart of Stirlingshire.
