St. Idloes Golf Club, established in 1897, has a rich history and a deep connexion to the local community. Situated in Penrhallt, just a short distance from the town of Llanidloes, our club offers a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for golf enthusiasts of all ages and abilities.
Originally located on the grounds of the local racecourse and cricket practise grounds, the club temporarily moved closer to Llanidloes before returning to its current location in 1947. Throughout its history, St. Idloes Golf Club has attracted members from the local area, fostering a strong sense of community and camaraderie.
At St. Idloes, we prioritise the enjoyment of our members and strive to provide excellent facilities and services. We have recently installed a wetland wildlife habitat, demonstrating our commitment to environmental sustainability. Additionally, we have a growing junior section that has priority access to the course and facilities on Saturday mornings, ensuring that future generations can experience the joys of golf.
Our 9-hole course offers panoramic views of the surrounding area, showcasing the natural beauty of Wales. With vistas of Plynlimon and the Llandinam hills, playing at St. Idloes Golf Club is a true delight for both locals and visitors alike. We are proud to have been selected as a host for one of Wales Golf's Mini Masters tournaments in June 2023, further highlighting the quality of our course.
To reach St. Idloes Golf Club, visitors can take a pleasant walk through Penrhallt woods from the town of Llanidloes. However, we recommend driving if you plan to play golf after your hike, as the journey can be quite challenging with a golf bag on your back.
Whether you are a seasoned golfer or just starting your golfing journey, St. Idloes Golf Club is the perfect place to enjoy the sport in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Come and join us to experience the beauty of our course, make new friends, and create lasting memories.
