Hey sports community!
📣 Adele Hooper would like to share a bit about the dance school she's passionate about - Step in Time. Located in Christchurch, UK, Step in Time offers a range of dance classes for everyone.
Adele, the founder and lead teacher, has structured the school to accommodate all levels and ages. Whether you’re into Ballroom, Latin, Classical, or Sequence dancing, you'll find a class that suits your interests. They also offer one-to-one lessons if you're looking for more personalised instruction.
Kids get special attention too – the first children’s class is on the house! Adele's team of dedicated teachers ensures a fun and engaging environment from the tiny Diddy Dancers to the Juniors, and even adults. 💃🕺
For those planning a wedding, there’s something special for you as well. Adele specialises in helping couples prepare for a memorable first dance on their big day. With her extensive background in Ballroom and Latin dancing, she ensures every couple feels confident.
Classes are held at several venues across Christchurch, including St George's Church Hall and St Andrew's Church Parish Centre, making it convenient for students to attend.
A bit about Adele – she’s been in the dance world for over 20 years and is an Associate member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD). She's fully certified in advanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, holds NVQ 2+3 in Childcare, and is trained in paediatric first aid and safeguarding.
Her passion for dance covers various styles, and she loves teaching students of all ages and abilities. Adele is especially eager about her Latin Funky Fit classes, which aim to boost fitness, wellbeing, and confidence through dance.
Step in Time opened its doors in August 2021. Before that, Adele spent over 15 years teaching at Dancezone, inspired by her mentor Nigel Bradshaw. Her journey in dance began at the age of 3 at Anglo and progressed with outstanding achievements, such as winning a Bronze medal at the Blackpool National Grand Finals.
Adele’s dedication is clear in her qualifications, which include Student Teacher certification in 2011 and full Associate Ballroom and Latin exams. She’s also gaining higher teaching qualifications and has experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN).
Her commitment to creating a supportive and friendly atmosphere at Step in Time has established her as a beloved teacher. She brings patience, expertise, and a genuine love for dance to every class.
Notably, Adele had the opportunity to compete in the UK's first Equality Dance Open competition in the A-Class events with Nigel Bradshaw. This experience was showcased on the BBC’s Inside Out programme.
