Paul Appleton, the organiser, is excited to share some fantastic news about the St Cleres Hall Golf Club in Stanford-le-Hope. The Club now features a newly refurbished, floodlit, 19-bay driving range, a cracking 9-hole golf course, and an opportunity to try Foot-golf, which is rapidly rising in popularity across the UK.
The 9-hole course at St Cleres Hall is renowned for its challenging layout. It has these sweeping areas of short grass that make for an engaging and demanding round, no matter your skill level. Paul welcomes golfers of all abilities, from beginners to seasoned pros. Plus, the club is particularly supportive of young golfers eager to learn or improve.
In terms of pricing, a single round on this brilliant 9-hole course is just £6, while a full-day pass is £10. The course is open from 8am until dusk, every day of the week, and you don't need to book ahead. Should you want lessons or time at the driving range, the club’s experienced PGA Professional, Jamie Gowan, is your go-to person. The driving range itself has 19 under-cover bays, and is equipped with six target greens for practising all kinds of shots, from a gentle 50-yard pitch to a 300-yard drive. There are new dual strike mats and manual tees suitable for both left and right-handed golfers, along with some bays fitted with automated Power Tees – no more bending down to reload!

Driving range hours are from 8am to 9pm, seven days a week, with no booking necessary. Range ball prices are £3 for 30 balls, £4 for 60 balls, and £5 for 100 balls.
