Welcome to Star Studios (Ballroom Dance Centre), Melbourne's longest established Dance Studio, located in Bentleigh. With a history dating back to 1962, Star Studios has been providing the local community with a friendly and professional environment for learning and enjoying the art of dance.
At Star Studios, our goal is to offer a comprehensive range of dance classes and services, catering to dancers of all levels, from beginners to professionals. Whether you're looking to learn ballroom, Latin, new vogue, social dancing, wedding dances, swing, Latin American, rock n roll, street Latin, or even pursuing coaching and adjudicating diploma training, we have something for everyone.
Our dance school prides itself on its ethical and professional staff, ensuring that students receive the highest quality of instruction and guidance. We believe in a value-for-money approach, with no contracts required. This allows our dancers to have the flexibility they need to explore different styles and commitments.
One of the standout features of Star Studios is our large air-sprung dance floor, providing optimal comfort and safety for our dancers. Our studio is also fully air-conditioned, ensuring a pleasant environment during classes and social events.
Speaking of social events, Star Studios is known for its vibrant social scene. Every Tuesday and Friday night, we host social dance programmes, starting at 8:30pm and going until 11:00pm. These events offer a fantastic opportunity to dance to great modern music in a variety of styles, including ballroom, Latin American, and new vogue. No bookings are required, and the cost is only $22 per head (or StarCard).
For those looking for a little extra instruction, pre-social instruction classes are available for an additional $18.
Additionally, we have a mini social every Sunday night from 7:30pm to 9:00pm. These mini socials are a more relaxed and intimate setting to dance and mingle with fellow dancers. Just like our regular social dances, no bookings are required, and the cost is $22 per head (or StarCard).
