Victoria Stansfield School of Dance, located in Wakefield, has been dedicated to providing exceptional dance training since 1975. With over 40 years of experience, the school has nurtured and trained some of the UK's top dancers, performers, and teachers in the region.
The school offers a variety of classes, including the latest IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) and RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) classes. A new exciting addition to their class schedule is the Tiny Dancers class, starting in January 2024. This class is specially designed for children aged 3 and above who are interested in performing, dancing, and singing. Tiny Dancers is a fun-filled 45-minute class that explores ballet, tap, and song at an introductory level.
Parents and carers are encouraged to leave their little ones in the class, allowing them to develop their independence and skills. At the end of each term, there is a small sharing event where parents can witness their child's progress.
The school has produced many accomplished dancers and performers, with one of their students, Grace Hawksworth, being crowned Miss Dance of Great Britain in 2019, a prestigious title in the IDTA competition. Another achievement includes being recognised as All Stars at the Wakefield Theatre Royal.
Vicki Stansfield is the founder of Victoria Stansfield School of Dance. Her own passion for dance began at the age of nine, and by the age of 12, she was performing at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom's children's ballet. She went on to have a successful professional career, performing in summer seasons and pantomimes across the country. In 1975, Vicki and her husband founded the school, and she continues to contribute to the dance community as a senior examiner and faculty member of Theatre Craft.
The studio is conveniently located at East Villa, 71 Batley Road, Wakefield, with easy access for students. Victoria Stansfield School of Dance takes pride in its purpose-built studio, which has been its home for the past 36 years.
