St Albans Karate is a renowned martial arts school in St Albans, New Zealand that promotes the practise of Karate for all age groups and skill levels. The club was established by dedicated members of Jin Sei Kai Shotokan Karate Association, UK's leading association of Karate teachers and students. Our mission is to provide a safe and inclusive environment for individuals in the community to enhance their health, fitness, and overall well-being through the practise of Karate.
Jin Sei Kai Karate has its roots in Shotokan, a traditional style of Japanese Karate, and follows the forms and teachings of Kananzawa. The association's philosophy revolves around identifying the individual “self” in each student and encouraging them to find their unique potential within a set of movements. While self-defence techniques like kicking, punching, and blocking form the core of our training, we also place a significant emphasis on understanding the body's strengths and limitations to prevent injuries.
Founded by Sensei Paul Perry, 9th Dan, St Albans Karate has received recognition and respect in the global Karate community. Under Sensei Perry's leadership, Jin Sei Kai has earned a well-deserved reputation for its focus on good technique and promoting overall health. Whether you are a child, teen, adult, or senior, we offer an unbeatable formula to get fit and have fun through our Karate classes.
St Albans Karate welcomes individuals of all ages and abilities, as our classes cater to different demographics. Our adult and teen classes are held every Sunday and Thursday, led by experienced instructors Stuart and Andrew. The Sunday class is suitable for all ages, but we recommend young children to start with our dedicated children's classes. The Sunday class takes place from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at Spencer Hall on High Street in Sandridge.
The Thursday class runs from 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm at St Michaels Memorial Hall on Branch Road in St Albans.
For children aged 5 and above, we offer specialised children's Karate classes. These classes are designed to provide a fun and engaging environment for children to learn the fundamentals of Karate while developing discipline, confidence, and physical fitness.
