Stagecoach Performing Arts Redditch (Friday School) is a renowned performing arts group and dance school located in Redditch, UK. Since its establishment in April 2005, Stagecoach Redditch has been providing top-quality part-time training in singing, dancing, and acting for over a decade. As part of the UK's largest network of part-time performing arts schools, Stagecoach Redditch stands out as more than just a stage school, theatre school, or drama school. It prides itself on offering a comprehensive and well-rounded education that not only teaches performing arts skills but also cultivates life skills, building confidence, and stretching imaginations through its singing, acting, and dance classes.
Stagecoach Redditch offers weekly classes for various age groups. For children aged 4–6 years, the Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools. These classes focus on introducing young learners to the three disciplines of musical theatre singing, dancing, and drama laying the foundation for a smooth transition to the next stage in their performing arts journey. Each Early Stages class runs for 90 minutes.
The Main Stages classes cater to young people aged 6–18 years and are divided into three age-appropriate groups. Within these classes, students have the opportunity to acquire new skills in singing, dancing, and drama, all of which contribute to a well-rounded musical theatre education. The Main Stages classes are designed to nurture the shy and apprehensive, helping them find confidence in their abilities, while simultaneously encouraging and channelling the talents of those with natural confidence and energy. These classes run for three hours per week.
Stagecoach Redditch's Further Stages classes cater specifically to students aged 15 and above who possess advanced skills in musical theatre. These sessions provide talented students with the chance to further hone their performance skills through in-depth training and master classes. Additionally, the school assists students in building the confidence necessary to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools, should they choose to pursue further education and training in performing arts.
Stagecoach Redditch prides itself on maintaining a team of highly qualified professionals who are committed to the safety and welfare of the students. All members of the team undergo Enhanced DBS checks to ensure the utmost security while working with the students.
The school also offers holiday workshops, designed to give students an immersive and enjoyable experience during their breaks from school. These workshops provide an opportunity for participants to have fun, learn new skills, and develop their confidence and self-expression beyond the regular weekly classes.
In addition to the regular classes and workshops, Stagecoach Redditch organises big shows every couple of years, with the next one scheduled for March 2024 at The Palace Theatre in Redditch. These shows are a culmination of the students' hard work and dedication, providing a platform for them to showcase their talents to a wider audience.
Stagecoach Redditch is proud to announce that it is now registered with Ofsted, enabling parents to use Childcare Vouchers to pay for classes. This allows more children to access the valuable training and opportunities provided by Stagecoach Redditch.
