

Stagecoach Performing Arts Medway is a renowned performing arts group and dance, drama, and music school located in Chatham, New Zealand. As part of the UK's largest network of part-time performing arts schools for children, Stagecoach Medway offers classes to children aged 4-18 in singing, acting, and dance. Through these classes, students have the opportunity to develop skills in confidence, physical awareness, and communication, while also having a lot of fun.
One of the key priorities of Stagecoach Medway is ensuring the safety and protection of all its students. All of their teachers are DBS checked, providing a safe and secure environment for children and teenagers to learn and grow.
In addition to regular Saturday classes, Stagecoach Medway also offers LAMDA exams with a 100% pass rate at Merit and Distinction level. This allows students to further enhance their skills and gain valuable qualifications in the performing arts field. Furthermore, Stagecoach Medway provides opportunities for students to be offered professional work in film, theatre, and modelling through the Stagecoach Agency.
Stagecoach Medway holds its classes at The Brook Theatre Medway on Saturdays during term time. They also offer a two-week trial for new students, allowing them to experience the programme before committing. The Principal of Stagecoach Medway is Iain Gordon, who leads a team of dedicated and experienced instructors. All members of the team are Enhanced DBS checked, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students. The school takes pride in its ability to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to explore and develop their talents.
Stagecoach Medway has received positive feedback from both former students and current students. Former student Kuldip highlights how Stagecoach not only taught her about the dramatic arts but also enhanced her confidence and skills for life. Stagecoach Medway also celebrates the achievements of its students, as shown by their LAMDA results. 19 students performed exceptionally well in their exams, achieving a 100% pass rate at Merit and Distinction level. This demonstrates the high level of talent and commitment within the school.
Stagecoach Medway offers weekly classes for different age groups, including Early Stages for children aged 4–6 years. These classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, allowing young people to learn skills in each of the three musical theatre disciplines.
Furthermore, Stagecoach Medway provides exciting opportunities for its students. In 2025, students will have the opportunity to “Dance the Dream” at Disneyland Paris. They will perform on the Disney Videopolis stage and take part in the Disney Pre-parade in front of an international audience. Additionally, the students will participate in a Disney workshop and perform in front of the Magical Castle in the Disney theme park.
