Karen would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone interested in the activities at Stagecoach Chester, a long-established performing arts group and dance school offering part-time training for children and teenagers aged 4–18 years. She is passionate about nurturing young talent, and the team offers singing, dancing, and acting classes that help build confidence and spark creativity.
Karen, who has been with Stagecoach since 1993, is well known locally as a musical theatre director. Her students have a track record of success, often appearing on television, in films, and on professional stages. Since 2009, Lindsay has been part of the team, bringing her rich experience from various Stagecoach schools. Lindsay holds a BA (Hons) in acting from Drama Centre London and has professional credits on stage, television, and film.
Stagecoach Chester is proud to have provided casts for many of Bill Kenwright’s productions in the North-West such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and Evita. Their students also make up the North-West regional choir, which has performed at prestigious venues like The Birmingham Symphony Hall.
Weekly classes are available for children aged 4–6 years, 6–18 years, and 15+. During school holidays, engaging workshops like Wind in the Willows, Musicals – Through the Ages, Musicals – Glitz and Glamour, and Alice in Wonderland are held. These “Show in a Week” workshops are very popular and tend to sell out quickly.
Karen and her team prioritise the safety and well-being of all students. Every team member has undergone Enhanced DBS checks, and the school is proud to be registered with Ofsted, ensuring they meet high educational standards.
They prepare students for prestigious LAMDA examinations, consistently achieving excellent results. Being an Ofsted registered school, they have the privilege of hosting these examinations on their premises. LAMDA is one of the UK's oldest and most respected awarding bodies, offering practical examinations in communication and performance for over 130 years.
Stagecoach Chester accepts all Childcare Vouchers for weekly classes and workshops, making it easier for parents to manage payments.
Their weekly classes include Early Stages for ages 4–6 years and Main Stages for ages 6–18 years. These sessions cover singing, dancing, and drama, helping young people develop skills in all three disciplines of musical theatre. Classes are held at Bishops High School, Vaughans Lane, Boughton, Chester.
Join Karen and the team at Stagecoach Chester to nurture young talent and embark on an exciting journey in the performing arts.
