About

Stagecoach Performing Arts Canterbury is a reputable performing arts group and dance school located in Canterbury, New Zealand. They have been providing quality part-time training in the performing arts for children aged 4–18 years since 1996. The school's main goal is to nurture and develop young potential through singing, acting, and dance classes, ultimately stretching young imaginations and building confidence in a fun and engaging environment.

One of Stagecoach's primary focuses is ensuring that each child gets the most out of their experience. They strive to build life skills and confidence in addition to honing the children's performing arts abilities. The school's dedicated team of industry-trained professional teachers are committed to providing a safe, creative, and proactive environment where children can freely express themselves, have fun, make new friends, and gain the confidence they need to succeed in life.

All the teachers and staff at Stagecoach Canterbury are Enhanced DBS checked, ensuring that parents can trust their child's safety and well-being while under their care. The school is proud of the success their students have achieved, with many former students going on to accomplish great things in the performing arts industry.

In addition to their weekly classes for children aged 4–18 years, Stagecoach Canterbury also offers holiday workshops and birthday parties, providing even more opportunities for children to explore their creativity and develop their skills. They also offer Lamda tuition, which includes solo coaching by Lamda Teachers for Lamda Exams in Acting, Speaking Verse and Prose, Public Speaking, and Musical Theatre. These exams are a fantastic way for students to build confidence, improve communication skills, and present ideas effectively.

Stagecoach Canterbury also holds regular productions, such as their recent successful performance of “Legally Blonde. ” They provide two-week trial periods for interested students to experience the school and its activities firsthand before committing to enrolment. However, spaces are limited, so it is recommended to contact the school for more information as soon as possible.

To offer more convenience to parents, Stagecoach Canterbury accepts payments from childcare voucher schemes and the Tax Free Childcare scheme. They also provide the option to split fees over 12 months through their new Direct Debit option.

The school's classes are divided into two categories: Early Stages for children aged 4–6 years and Main Stages for those aged 6–18 years. Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools and focus on building skills in singing, dancing, and drama. The Main Stages classes are further divided into three age-appropriate groups, allowing students to learn new skills in singing, dancing, and drama. This structure helps young people gradually develop and transition between different stages of their performing arts education.

Stagecoach Performing Arts Canterbury is a comprehensive and professional performing arts group and dance school that aims to provide children with the opportunity to develop their talents, gain confidence, and have fun. With their experienced faculty, focus on nurturing young potential, and commitment to building life skills, Stagecoach Canterbury is an ideal choice for children interested in exploring the performing arts.
