Developed a passion for fitness. I have participated in various sports, such as football, rugby, netball, and gymnastics. With over 10 years of experience in the health and fitness industry, I have gained extensive knowledge and expertise. Initially, I started my journey by running exercise classes, but soon found my calling as a strength and conditioning coach.
I have worked with individuals and sports teams, providing one-to-one and group lifting sessions. My qualifications include an MSc in Sport and Exercise Science, Lv3 British Weightlifting Coach, Lv3 Personal Trainer, Ante/Post Natal Exercise, First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, and DBS.
Steph Coe, another dedicated coach at Staffs Lifting Club, had her introduction to the gym four years ago through general exercise classes. However, it was when she was introduced to Weightlifting that she discovered her passion for it. Over the years, she has gained experience in both Powerlifting and Weightlifting and has developed a love for lifting. Steph is known for her friendly and chatty nature, always ready for a catch-up with members of the club.
Her qualifications include Lv2 Weightlifting Coach, Lv3 Personal Training, First Aid, and DBS.
Dan Davies, an accomplished coach at the club, has a unique background in combat sports. He started Thai boxing at the age of 14 and was introduced to strength training as preparation for competitions in Thai, MMA, and grappling. Gradually, his interest shifted towards strength and conditioning, leading him to open his own gym, Stone Strength and Conditioning. While continuing to coach and run a business, he focused on powerlifting.
Dan firmly believes that strength training is beneficial for everyone and has successfully coached a diverse range of clients, from recovering tumour patients to European and British champions in combat sports. His qualifications include a BSc in Exercise Sciences and Lv3 Personal Training.
Michal Skorupka, an experienced coach at Staffs Lifting Club, has been actively involved in sports since the age of 14. Initially focusing on sprinting and bodybuilding, he discovered Crossfit, which became his passion. Throughout the years, he has gained practical knowledge in various disciplines, including acrobatics, callisthenics, Crossfit, gymnastics, Olympic weightlifting, and powerlifting. Currently, Michal finds fulfilment in lifting weights and enjoys the focus and state of mind it brings.
He believes that a gym is not just a place to train, but also an opportunity to meet new people, engage in interesting conversations, and take care of one's overall well-being. Michal is currently completing Lv1 Weightlifting certification.
Josh Brookes, a coach at Staffs Lifting Club, has always had a sport-oriented mindset and a passion for fitness.
