Staffordshire University KDS, led by Mark Hallam, is where serious fun meets martial arts in Stoke-on-Trent. As part of the Keele University Athletic Union Karate Club, this crew sticks to the classic Shotokan Karate wisdom passed down by Mitsusuke Harada Sensei MBE, a direct student of Gichin Funakoshi O'Sensei.

Mark’s mission? Making real-world karate moves second nature. Training's open to adults, and you’ll find an inviting and friendly vibe. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just curious, everyone works at their own speed. No fitness levels needed – just show up and start building.

New to karate? No worries! Regular beginner courses get you grounded in the basics. Join in the action every Tuesday from 18:30 to 20:00 and Thursday from 19:00 to 20:30 at the Gymnasium. Skilled instructors like Professor Anand Pandyan, Arica Willis-Blackwood, and Dr Theocharis Kyriacou are ready to guide you.
