Stadium Stomp is thrilled to invite all running enthusiasts to join the epic stair challenge at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in celebration of 10 years of Stomp! With a capacity of 100,024 seats, the MCG offers a thrilling course of climbing up, down, and around its bays. Rest stops, drink stations, and energising music will keep participants motivated throughout the event.
Participants can choose from different course options tailored to their fitness level: the full course with 7,300 steps, the short course with 1,900 steps, and the Junior Stomp designed for ages 5-11. For those seeking a greater challenge, the Stomp Unlimited option allows participants to conquer as many stairs as they dare.
To ensure a preferred wave time, early registration is recommended. While fundraising for charity is encouraged, it is not mandatory. Gates will open 30 minutes before each wave time at Gate 1, near light tower 6. Public transport is the recommended mode of commute, but car parking is available at Yarra Gate 3 for a fee of $10 (card payments only). Participants are advised to check social media for updates on parking availability during wet weather conditions.
Wave times will commence from the start, with new waves being called every 15 minutes. A warm-up routine will be conducted before each wave to prepare participants for the challenge ahead. Bibs can be collected upon check-in, and pre-purchased merchandise can be picked up at the event. Additional merchandise may also be available for purchase on-site. Bag compound service is offered at Gate 1 for convenience, and running belts for holding small items can be purchased.
