Are you the owner of Sree Sankara School of Dance?

Welcome to Sree Sankara School of Dance (SSD) at Kalady, the birthplace of Jagadguru Adi Sankara and a spiritual haven on the banks of the serene Periyar River. At SSD, classical dance is more than an art form; it’s a profound expression of the individual and the universe as a whole. Since its establishment in 1993, this hallowed institution has been dedicated to preserving and nurturing the rich tradition of Indian classical arts. Jointly promoted by Prof. Peethambaran and Mrs. Sudha Peethambaran, SSD has grown into one of India's largest traditional classical schools, boasting 18 centers and around 1000 students.
The heart of SSD is the traditional Natyamandapam, our main campus in Kalady, located conveniently close to the Cochin International Airport. Here, aspirant and professional dancers alike find a space to thrive and express their art through Mohiniyattam, Bharatanatyam, Kuchupudi, and Carnatic Music. The school offers a wide range of training programs, including regular training sessions, short Gurukulam training, and specialized classes for NRIs, foreign students, working women, and housewives.
The promoters of SSD, Prof. P. V. Peethambaran and Mrs. Sudha Peethambaran, bring a wealth of experience and dedication to the school. Prof. Peethambaran's vision and organizational skills have propelled the institution forward, while Mrs. Sudha Peethambaran, an ‘A’ Grade Artiste of Doordarshan Kendra and ICCR Panel Artiste, imparts her profound expertise to nurture the upcoming talents.
The vibrant community at SSD is more than just a school; it’s a thriving hub where traditions meet innovation. Each year, the Sree Sankara Dance & Music Festival, now proudly elevated to an international event, showcases the brilliance of classical arts and propagates the teachings of Adi Sankaracharya. Whether it's through organizing dance festivals, imparting teachers' training, or hosting workshops and seminars, SSD remains committed to fostering a deep appreciation for classical arts and empowering future generations of performers.
