About
At Holywell Ford in Oxford, Magdalen College's squash courts are the spot for a great game. With three courts, showers, changing rooms, and observation galleries, it’s all set for a top experience.
As a Magdalen College member, you can get the keys from the Porters' Lodge and start playing. Doesn't matter if you’re just starting out or a seasoned player – everyone’s welcome at the courts.
But it's not just about squash. Magdalen College has loads of other sports facilities too. Cricket, football, hockey, rugby pitches, and tennis courts (hard and grass) are all nearby. There's a fully-equipped College gym and free access to the University sports centre on Iffley Road.
Water sports fan? The College has a boathouse on the Isis (the River Thames bit through Oxford). In summer, you can even use the College punts for a chill time on the water.
Into team sports? Magdalen College has men’s and women’s teams for everything from rowing and football to netball and pool, as long as there’s enough interest. The Combined Clubs Fund helps out with funding, so costs don’t hold anyone back, particularly for Blues team competitions.
The biggest sports team is the Magdalen College Boat Club, with extra support from the Friends of Magdalen Boat Club keeping membership affordable for all students.
New to Oxford? Joining sports teams and clubs is a great way to take a break from studying and meet other students. All skill levels, including beginners, are welcomed.
