Laura Cook would like to extend a warm message to the sports community about Spotlight Dance Academy in Minehead, Somerset. Founded in 2006 by Laura, the academy offers dance classes for all ages and abilities, helping people to either pursue a professional dance career or simply keep fit and have fun.
At Spotlight Dance Academy, children can take exams with the International Dance Teachers’ Association (IDTA) and the academy is proud of its 100% exam pass rate. Many students go on to study performing arts at institutions like The English Youth Ballet, LIPA, and The Royal Ballet.
The academy regularly puts on shows at The Regal Theatre in Minehead, giving students a chance to perform and entertain the community. These events are very popular and often sell out.
Classes are held in a newly built studio with sprung flooring, wall-to-ceiling mirrors, and ballet barres. The space is also available for hire for things like birthday parties, exercise classes, rehearsals, and meetings.
Laura is dedicated to creating a warm and inclusive environment, making sure every dancer gets the attention and guidance they need to reach their potential.

Spotlight Dance Academy offers children's classes in Ballet, Tap, and Street, as well as private tuition. For adults, there's Spotlight Tappers, a fun tap class, and Ballet Fitness classes. They also provide themed dance classes for hen parties.
