Welcome to Sporting Weston FC – the home of senior and junior football in Weston-super-Mare. Established in 1998, Sporting Weston FC started as a group of friends coming together to play football in the Weston Sunday League. Over the years, the club has grown and now boasts a first team, a reserve team, a Colts team, and a Veterans team.
The first team, led by Manager Adam Palmer, has seen tremendous success on the field, progressing from a Sunday league team to competing in the Weston & District League Division. The reserve team and Colts team provide opportunities for young players to develop their skills and transition from junior to senior football. Additionally, Sporting Weston FC proudly introduced a ladies football team called The Sporting Vixens in 2023.
Sporting Weston FC is deeply rooted in the local community, with many club members employed by local businesses, local authorities, and charities. This strong connexion to the community is what sets the club apart and creates a welcoming and inclusive environment for all players.
The club also focuses on the health, safety, and wellbeing of everyone involved. Qualified coaching staff ensure that all age groups receive proper training and follow safety guidelines. Sporting Weston FC is committed to safeguarding and has designated safeguarding officers to address any concerns.
One of the highlights of the year is Sporting Fest, a family-friendly event held in August. It combines live music, food, and local bars to create a fantastic day out for everyone. Sporting Fest not only supports the club financially but also brings the community together.
Geraint Williams, the club chairman, extends a warm welcome to all visitors. As a parent himself, he values the inclusive and supportive environment that Sporting Weston FC offers. The club is dedicated to providing a safe and fun space for players of all abilities.
