Splash Swimschool North Devon is a reputable swimming school located in Barnstaple, offering a range of swimming lessons for children of all ages and abilities. The swimming lessons are led by highly trained and DBS-checked staff, with an onsite National Pool Lifeguard trained member always available. Splash Swimschool North Devon offers a variety of classes to cater to different age groups and levels of ability. For parent and baby/toddler groups, there are fun and interactive 35-minute sessions that include playtime with toys. This provides an opportunity for parents to bond with their children in the water while building water confidence and basic swimming skills.

For children aged 3 to 5 years, there are pre-school classes called “Ripples. ” These 30-minute sessions allow children to have fun in small groups, with a maximum ratio of five children to one adult. Water-based teachers provide additional support and help build confidence in the water.

For school-aged children and above, there are classes in the “Waves” category. These 30-minute lessons cater to beginners, improvers, and advanced swimmers. Lessons cover stroke technique, water skills, personal survival, basic water safety, stamina training, and life-saving skills. Older beginners are welcome, and water-based teachers are available for all beginner classes.

Splash Swimschool North Devon operates in two venues. The first is Stowford Farm Meadows in Berrynarbour, which has a pool size of 22m × 10m and a minimum pool temperature of 29 degrees Celsius. Lessons are available on Monday from 4. 00 pm to 7.

00 pm, Tuesday from 4. 00 pm to 6. 30 pm, and Wednesday from 4. 00 pm onwards for Waves classes, beginners, improvers, water skills, Swim England Levels, stamina training, bronze, silver, and gold honours challenge awards.

Adult lane swimming is also available during certain lesson times.

The second venue is Calvert Trust in Kentisbury, with a pool size of 12. 5m × 5m and a minimum pool temperature of 31 degrees Celsius. Splash Swimschool North Devon offers Splashtime classes for parent-assisted lessons (for children aged 6 months to 3 years) and Ripples classes for children aged 3 years to starting school. The warm pool at Calvert Trust is ideal for young babies.

Waves classes for school-aged children and above, covering beginners, improvers, and stroke technique, also take place on Sundays from 10. 00 am onwards.
