Brendan Grant and his family run Splash Swim School in Napier, Hawke's Bay. With a focus on community and family, Brendan and Teenica Grant, along with their daughters Charlotte, Isabella (Izzy), and Alice, have created a welcoming swim school where kids can learn to love the water while improving their swimming skills.
The swim school offers lessons starting from 6 months old, through a six-level Learn to Swim programme tailored for all abilities. Whether your little one is just starting out or already an advanced swimmer, there's a place for everyone.
The pool at Splash Swim School is kept at a comfy 32 degrees Celsius and features a top-notch filtration system using UV light and salt chlorination. This ensures the water remains clean and safe with lower chlorine levels, making it a healthy environment for all.
For the youngest swimmers, there are Water Babies classes focusing on getting used to the water and basic survival skills. Toddlers aged 16 months to 3.5 years will build confidence and learn key skills like balance and hand-eye coordination. Pre-schoolers aged 3.5 to 5 years will work on water safety and enjoyment.
Older kids can join the six-level programme designed for school-aged children, ensuring a level that fits their ability. The school also offers private lessons and sessions for children with diverse abilities, though availability is limited.
