About
James, the organiser, wanted to share some exciting news with the sports community about Spey Bay Golf Club. Located in Fochabers, this club is a gem on Scotland's northern coast and it's one of only 247 true-links golf courses in the world.
The course, which was designed by Ben Sayers in 1907, sprawls across 150 acres along the Moray coast. It boasts 18 challenging holes that cater to golfers of all abilities. The fairway contours are world-class, and the back nine offers a special treat, playing almost entirely along the scenic northern Scottish coast.
Come autumn 2023, the golf club will undergo a major renovation. Mike Devries and his team will transform this traditional links course into a reversible 18-hole championship layout. With up to 22 greens and 5 routing options, this will be something truly unique in the birthplace of golf.
The renovation is being overseen by Clayton, DeVries, and Pont (CDP), a leading partnership in golf course architecture. CDP has worked on some of the world's top courses like Cape Wickham Links and Barnbougle Dunes.
Chris Haspell, a well-known agronomy consultant, will make sure the course meets the highest standards throughout the renovation. Haspell is famed for his work on courses such as Castle Stuart and Cabot Links.
Situated in the Scottish Highlands, Spey Bay Golf Club is within easy reach of major airports, making it an ideal spot for a golfing trip or a broader exploration of the Highlands.
