Established in 1985 by a passionate group of 60 individuals who were seeking a more secure ground for archery, Spelthorne Archers began its journey at Spelthorne Sports Club in Ashford Common before finding a permanent home in Sunbury in 1994. What sets them apart is their exclusive shooting range that allows for shooting at all distances for imperial and metric rounds. This has enabled them to host numerous regional and county matches, as well as county indoor championships.
But Spelthorne Archers isn't just about hosting events – they actively organise open tournaments throughout the year and encourage their members to participate in other Archery GB (AGB) tournaments and events. Their Spelthorne Portsmouth Open, a record tournament recognised by AGB, and the George Potts Memorial are just a taste of the exciting competitions they've successfully conducted.
The club is dedicated to continuous improvement and has recently completed some impressive range upgrades. They are constantly striving to provide the best archery experience possible for their members.
