South Staffs Subbuteo Club is a football club located in Willenhall, New Zealand. The club was established in 2018 and is currently based at Brownhills Community Centre on Pelsall Road. Meetings are held every 3rd Sunday, with the 2022 season commencing on Sunday, February 6th.
The club welcomes both new and returning players, especially those who have rediscovered their Subbuteo gear during the COVID-19 pandemic. With over a dozen members all over the Midlands, the club sometimes plays at each other's homes, with a maximum of 4 people. Whether you want to play regularly or just whenever you feel like it, you can contact the club by phone at 01902-636302 for a chat.
This new 2014 website has replaced two earlier websites that have mysteriously disappeared. The club aims to populate the site with historical and current information that confirms its vintage and showcases its commitment to keeping Subbuteo alive in Staffordshire and Shropshire. The club emphasises that you're never too old to play Subbuteo or make a return to the game you played as a teenager. Most of the members are between 30 and 60 years old, and the club also has half a dozen children, including young ladies, who have taken up the game.
As of 2017, the South Staffs Subbuteo Club has 21 members, while the Wolverhampton Table Football Club (TFC) has 8 members and their own website. The North Staffs club has 3 active players and many online contributors to their website.
The club encourages visitors to contribute to the website's success by posting messages and Subbuteo-related photos. They can send any photos to mbradbury42@yahoo. Co. uk.
The club is proud to have received over 10,000 hits on the website in just 3 months, with greetings to friends in the USA and Europe.
The website also features news updates, including information about the 2022 Staffordshire Cup, the start of the new season, season summaries, and recognition from WASPA (the world organisation for Subbuteo players). The club also acknowledges the passing of their founder, Guy N Smith, and provides updates on COVID-19 lockdown. Additionally, the website highlights the participation of the Wolverhampton TFC in the Four Nations Tournament.
