
The Southport Sailing Club is gearing up to host the National Junior 12 Hour Race on Saturday, 29th June 2024 from 8am to 8pm. This thrilling race is open to teams from various Clubs, Youth Organisations, or Schools who have a passion for GP14, Enterprise, and Argo Dinghies. Teams have the option to compete with a symmetrical spinnaker or without one. There is no limit to the number of members on a team, and different age groups will be recognised with trophies and awards. The race will strictly adhere to the International Sailing Federation Racing Rules of Sailing, RYA prescriptions, and the Event's Sailing Instructions, which can be found on the SSC website.
Please be aware that any modifications to the racing rules will be outlined in the sailing instructions. Participants in the Under 20 and Under 18 categories must meet the age requirements on the day of the race. The 1.5-kilometer course will have five marks, and race fees are detailed on the entry form. Each team must designate a named Team Manager who is a responsible adult, knowledgeable about sailing and the team members' abilities. Participants are advised to wear appropriate personal flotation devices as competitors assume all risks associated with the event.
