South Oakleigh Bowling Club

The South Oakleigh Bowling Club (SOBC) is a welcoming and inviting sports club located conveniently on North Rd in South Oakleigh, Melbourne. The club is open to both new and experienced bowlers and offers a range of facilities and activities for members to enjoy.

The club boasts a Tifdwarf green and a well-maintained synthetic green, allowing affiliated members to have the best of both worlds when it comes to playing surfaces. SOBC participates in the Bowls Victoria Pennant on Saturdays from October to March, with teams competing in Divisions 3 and 6. On Tuesday nights, under lights, the club also holds Division 2 Night Pennant between November and April. A Saturday Mufti competition is organised during winter, rounding out the year's playing schedule.

To become a member of SOBC, simply complete the membership application form available on the club's website or visit the club to pick up a form and have a chat with the friendly members about the benefits of joining. The annual membership fee for full membership is $180, which is waived for first-year players. Full members have the opportunity to participate in all Pennant and Club Competitions, play in Bowls Victoria affiliated tournaments, enjoy unlimited green access, and have voting rights at club meetings and the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Full members are also eligible for coaching sessions, receive a free club playing shirt (for new members), and benefit from discounted bar prices and offers.
